Summary

Since magnet powder is mixed in rubber (CPE: Chlorinated Polyethylene) to be pressed and fabricated, magnet is easily manufactured. CPE shows intermediate property between EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Dien Rubber) and NBR (Nitile Butadiene Rubber). For motors used in the poor ambience, NBR is mostly used. As the material properties (elasticity and plasticity) are excellent, process of various shapes is eligible. There are sheet-type, roll-type, and other types, and thicknesses also vary (0.4 mm ~ 5 mm). Furthermore, the dimension may be freely set (width, length, and thickness). UV coating or MATT-UV coating is conducted to prevent damage of magnet by heat. UV coating gives glossy surface, while MATT-UV coating does not. Moreover, adhesive tape or color PVC may be attached and manufactured on rubber magnet to be used as promotional stickers, stationeries, educational purposes, etc. Currently depending on the production method and use, it is categorized and used as anisotropic rubber magnet and isotropic rubber magnet.
