Summary AlNiCo magnet is divided into two types. Both types contain Aluminum, Nickel, and Cobalt, but they are categorized based on the purpose of use. At first, cast AlNiCo magnet has high flux density and stability against temperature to be used widely for a long time, and it has been applied in various fields. Sintered AlNiCo magnet has been used for small products and products with many criteria. Although sintered AlNiCo magnet is weak and few properties, it is mechanically stronger than cast AlNiCo magnet. Sintered AlNiCo magnet is used in all types of sensors, calibrators, controllers, etc. AlNiCo magnet is used in isotropic and anisotropic; the magnetic direction shall be designated at the design state for isotropic materials, while the magnetic direction may be set after design for anisotropic materials. AlNiCo magnet is mostly used when the loss of magnetic force due to temperature is significant, and it is also used when the configuration is complex or when the work temperature is high. |

Property Due to high stability against temperature, loss of magnetic force does not occur even under high temperature. Due to high gradient, cast magnet is processed mainly through grinding. Brittleness is fairly low compare to oxide magnet, and isotropic AlNiCo is able to have multipolar magnetization. Weak coercivity compare to high magnetic flux density. Sintered AlNiCo is comparatively expensive to cast AlNiCo. Mass production, injection, and heteromorphy available for sintered AlNiCo. |
